iHerb's highest priority is protecting private customer information during the entire shopping experience. We use 3D Secure (3DS) for extra fraud protection to keep your card information safe.
3D Secure (3DS) requires customers to complete an additional verification step with the card issuer when paying. Customers may be prompted to navigate to an authentication page on their bank’s website where they enter a password associated with the card or a code sent to their phone. This process is familiar to customers through the card networks’ brand names, such as Visa Secure and Mastercard Identity Check.
If your credit card and/or debit card has been declined, we recommend contacting the card issuer to verify if the card used is able to undergo 3DS verification. When contacting the card issuer, be specific as possible and mention the following:
- You are using the card for an online purchase.
- You are purchasing from a company located in the United States of America.
- iHerb uses 3D Secure (3DS) payment verification.
- Ask if the card or the card issuer is able to undergo the 3DS verification process.
We recommend watching this short video (English Only) about 3DS verification to learn more.
