My Order Cleared Customs. What Next?

This article discusses what to do when an orders tracking status shows it has cleared customs.

When your order has cleared customs, it means it's released from border control, duties and taxes are settled, and it's now on its way to you. Depending on the destination country, it will likely be handed off to a local carrier for final delivery.

The local carrier will scan your package into their system prior to your order’s status being updated from the customs clearance stage. This may take 24-72 hours before the tracking status updates depending on the local carrier’s system and practices. Keep an eye on your orders tracking status for the final carrier update, then sit back and wait for your order to be delivered!

What to Expect Next

  • Local Carrier Handover: The package leaves the international airport or arrival hub and goes to the domestic delivery service.
  • Possible New Tracking Number: You might get a new tracking number for the local delivery. However, most of the time, your original tracking number will stay the same.
  • Delivery: Your order should be delivered within the time frame provided in your order confirmation email and the carrier’s order tracking page.

Helpful Tips

  1. Sign Up for Delivery Alerts: Use the carrier's app for updates. Most carriers have an app for tracking your package and communicating with them directly.
  2. Wait a Few Days: Often, there's a gap before the next scan; it just means it's moving internally.
  3. Contact the Carrier if No Movement: If it's stuck for over a week after customs clearance has occurred, contact your carrier directly for support and information.
