Azerbaijan Customs Declaration Process

Step 1: Download the Smart Customs App

Install the official application on your mobile device.

Step 2: Log In to the App

Open the app and log in using one of the available methods, such as your FIN code and mobile number or your SİMA digital signature.

Step 3: Create a New Declaration

  1. In the app menu, navigate to "Simplified Declaration – E-commerce".
  2. Tap on “New Declaration” to begin.

Step 4: Enter Your Shipment Information

Fill in the required fields with the information you gathered earlier:

  • Tracking Number: Enter the full tracking number for your order.
  • Sender Info:
    • Country: Select USA.
    • Name: Enter "iHerb".
  • Item Information: Enter the details for the first product in your order:
    • Item Description (e.g., Vitamin C, 1000mg)
    • Quantity
    • Value (Price)
  • Currency and Total Cost: Select the currency you paid in and enter the total cost of your order.

Step 5: Add Multiple Items (If Applicable)

If your order contains more than one type of product, you must declare each one separately.

  • After entering your first item, tap the “Add Item” button to create a new entry.
  • Repeat the process for every unique item in your parcel.

Step 6: Review, Submit, and Pay (If Needed)

  1. Carefully review all the information you have entered to ensure it is accurate.
  2. Tap "Confirm" or "Submit" to finalize your declaration.
  3. Customs Fees: If the total value of your imports for the month exceeds the tax-free limit (the de minimis value) of $300 USD, customs duties and taxes (up to 36% of the excess value) will apply. You can pay these fees directly within the Smart Customs app.

Important Reminders

  • Deadline: You must submit your declaration within 60 days of your shipment's arrival in Azerbaijan. We strongly recommend you submit it as soon as you receive your tracking number to avoid any issues.
  • Monthly Limit: The $300 USD tax-free limit is a cumulative total for all your personal imports within one calendar month.
  • Accuracy is Key: Submitting an incomplete or inaccurate declaration can result in your order being delayed, returned to sender, or seized by customs.
